2008 Wallace Brook Pinot Gris

This is a second label for Adelsheim, but they’ve gone to great lengths to keep it from being associated with their brand.  We're not sure why, because it's very good!  Nice floral aromas with hints of melon, pear,& lychee. It's a very balanced wine that will pair with seafood, poultry, cream sauced pastas and salmon.

Gomer's Green Tag Price: $9.98

2008 Domaine de Gournier Viognier

Domaine de Gournier is owned by Maurice Barnouin.  Located on the western edge of the Rhone Valley, north of the city of Nimes, the area geography is a combination of low limestone hills, studded with outcroppings of calcerous rock and sparce vegetation.  This wine is crafted from young-vine Viognier that is planted on a plateau with a limetsone sub-soil, which helps gaurd the minerality of the fruit naturally.  The Gournier Viognier is complemented by a touch of Chardonnay from new cask and a splash of Sauvignon Blanc for acidity and freshness.

$10.39

2008 Venta Morales
This is the first release of this Tempranillo, and Gomer's Midtown bought most of what came into the market.  We thought this was a tremendous value, and we weren't alone.  Here's what The Wine Advocate had to say about it:

"The 2008 Venta Morales is a phenomenal value. Sourced from a 32-year-old vineyard with tiny yields of two tons per acre, the wine was fermented and raised in stainless steel. It reveals a remarkably deep color for its humble price, fragrant black cherry aromas, ripe, round, savory fruit on the palate, and excellent depth and length. It over-delivers in a very big way."  88 points, The Wine Advocate
$6.59

2007 Regis Bouvier 'En Montre Cul'Bourgogne rouge
This 1.7 hectare vineyard of 30 year old Pinot Noir vines is located near Dijon bordering the village of Chenove. It almost certainly owes its provacative name to the incline of its slope and to the women who show so much of their assets when climbing it.  The name could also derive from 'Montre-ecu' denoting wine of high quality which commanded a hefty price.  The finess of this wine derives from the sandy brown iron-rich soil.  The grapes are allowed to macerate for about 20 days in thermo-regulated tanks before aging for 11 months in oak.

Gomer's Green Tag Price: $17.98
